What We Make
We make three things, and we keep them distinct: custom metal nameplates and labels; laser-cut parts; and CoreTight™ transformer banding straps and seals. Nameplates are the core of the business — permanent metal identification built to your drawing.
Across the hardest industries — energy, rail, mining, heavy equipment, power, aerospace and defense — critical identification is expected to be permanent metal, not film. Adhesive labels fail under heat, chemicals, abrasion, salt, and decades of service. We build the plate that outlives the equipment, with no minimum — to the standard your drawing names.

Who We Are
Specialty Nameplate & Manufacturing was founded in 2018. We build custom etched and marked metal nameplates, data plates, and industrial labels — the permanent identification that outlives the equipment it’s fixed to — US Manufactured from our long-term home in Hubbard, Ohio.
That work carries deep roots in metal marking — over 50 years of combined experience across our team. It traces to Specialty Metal Products, the metal nameplate company founded by Emil Koledin — an electrical engineer who also acquired, from Westinghouse, the C-core transformer banding strap-and-seal line that had run since the 1950s. Nameplates were the heart of that business; the banding was a specialized line within it.
Founded by his daughter, Specialty Nameplate carries both forward: nameplate manufacturing built and grown here, and the banding line preserved intact — every source material, drawing, and lot-control record — making us the sole continuing source for that transformer banding today.
We supply aerospace primes, Fortune-500 OEMs, and DoD programs — build-to-print identification and banding that has to hold up in the field.
